Welcome to Along the Way with Julia! I’m thrilled to be participating in the 2014 Blogging A-Z Challenge for a second year in a row – even if I am running late to the party this year! J
I wanted to do a theme again this year (because it’s just easier since I’m teaching 4th grade and our state testing is this month), but didn’t want to repeat the theme I had last year which was all about the Northern Sonoran Desert (my home for the last 20 some years). However, I love my “home” state, and wanted to incorporate into the challenge…decisions, decisions, decisions! Finally inspiration hit me – blog this challenge with a theme that is near and dear to my heart. So, the theme I’m going with for the next 30 days is….
Healthy, Wealthy??, and Wise!
Getting healthy is a big thing for me – I’m 42 years old and a prediabetic. I DO NOT want to take any shots in my future, so changing my diet and exercise is huge! At the same time, I’m a teacher, and teachers in Arizona do not make a lot of $$$. I’m always looking for ways to save money, but still get out and do things (staying at home gets old after a while). As for the wise part – I’m learning to be more aware, listening to my inner self more, and trying to be a better person than I was in my 20s and 30s. So…if any of this sounds remotely interesting, then grab your virtual hiking boots and hit the trails/activities of the Northern Sonoran Desert with me!
