It’s Monday, July 1st and today begins the writing race that is known as Camp NaNoWriMo. All over the world (and I know because I’m participating in the postcard swap and have two of my nine postcards I’m mailing out overseas) writers are sitting down and working on their almost 1,700 word goal for the day. In fact, as soon as I finish with this post I’ll be doing the same thing.
We’re fortunate, because our camp is virtual. We don’t have to deal with mosquitos, lousy food, campmates from hell, or the very real threat of forest fires. I live in Arizona, and unfortunately we have a couple of fires going on at this very moment. One of them, the Granite Hill fire, claimed the lives of 19 fire fighter hotshots yesterday.
