A is for….Amigo Wash!
Flora, Fauna, and Hiking Trails of the Northern Sonoran Desert
I’m hiking not too far from my home – it’s a matter of time, convenience, and cost of gasoline! The first hike is Amigo Wash Trail, because today is A Day!
The trail is literally what its name says…you’re walking on a dry wash bed. The park where I’m hiking at does warn people that the wash trails are off limits if there’s been rain, and I’ve learned in Arizona and New Mexico for enough years to know better than to hike in washes or arroyos if it even looks like a chance of rain! You never know when a flash flood might occur, which is why I’m not hiking with my MP3 player going – that and I want to be able to hear a rattlesnake warning before I see the snake!
Beginning of the trail…
About half way on the trail
Perfect spot for a sleepy snake!

That looks like a great place for a hike, except for the snakes of course. 😉

Nice first post you got here. I felt my skin crawl, snakes frighten me so! Looking forward to your next B-Z posts! 😀
